hi doc, i have a wide range of acne growing on my face...it started to grow when i started cleaning my face everyday and RUB WITH COTTON BALSS.

Hi leiny. if you're a teenager, you can't wait to get rid of it. If you're an adult, you can't belieive it's back. the major determining factor in who gets acne is genes. in other words , you may have inherited a skin characteristic that makes you more likely to develope acne.
there are thousands of oil glands in the skin, and you hav as many as 2,000 oil glands per square inch of your face. sometimes these oil ducts become plugged with sebum, bacteria, and dead skin cells that are shed from the linning duct. that's acne. the condition often appears on adolescence, coz of changing hormone levels w/c enlarge the oil glands and encourage to develope more oil. the situations usually settles during early 20's. in your case, you may have damage the cells on your skin because of rubbing it. don't exfoliate it. that refers to removing the top layer of dead skin cells. some dermatologist recommend using a rought washcloth or specially designed product to do just that."but your skin is already irritated if you have acne. don't use brushes, rough sponges, cleansers with granules or walnut hulls, or anything else of that nature on the delicate facial skin. try to use benzoyl peroxide. a number of over-the-counter products contains this ingredients, w/c helps break up the plug of dead skin cells, bacteria and oil in pores and cuts down on bacteria well. start with the lowest concentration and work your way up especially if have sensitive skin. coz the higher concentration the more irritating it may be. use it once or twice a day.if it dries the skin too much, apply a mild moisturizer.

hi there.
"halitosis is better than no breath at all." jokes one dentist. But the problem of halitosis or bad breath, has plagued manking for centuries leaving few people laughing about it. To conquer bad breath, the ancient greeks reputedly rinses with white wine, anise seed, and myrrh. while italians mixed up a mouthwash of sage, cinnamon, juniper seeds, root of cypress and rosemary leaves, according to academy of general dentistry. AND IN YOUR CASE, yes it is your ulcer is maybe one of the factor(but if that so, pls see your ENT doc) in addition some health problems, such as sinus infections or diabetes(which may give the breath a chemical smell), can cause abad breath.figuring out bad breath is the firs step, obviously, in doing something about it. here's way you can do to keep your breath as fresh as possible:
KEEP YOUR MOUTH CLEAN. that's the key thing. that means a thotough brushing twice a day. it also means flossing regularly. food and bacteria trapped between teeth and at the gum line can only be remove with floss: if it's left to linger it won't smell nice.WET YOUR WHISTLE. a dry mouth can equal smelly breath. saliva helps clean your mouth; it has a natural anti bacterial action and it washes away food particle.(it's the reduced saliva flow at night that explains morning breath, by the way.) try chewing sugarless gum and sucking on sugarless mints to stimulate saliva production.and if you decide to use mouthwash, choose a product with flouride for its cavvity-fighting potential or one that is accepted by the dental association for removing plaque.if there's anything more you'd like to add pls feel free to send me a mail at. is there a chance or way to totally get rid of hypertension and high cholesterol after having maintenance in medication, exercise and good diet?

Hypertension, the extensive problem found in all age groups has created a panic throughout the world, as its proper and harmless cure is still not confirmed even by the physicians of the modern world. Hypertension in its definition means a condition where the blood pressure is higher than the normal.
It is true that hypertension could be controlled through intake of several allopathic drugs like - ACE inhibitors, terazosin, propranolol, amlodipine, bendroflumethiazide etc. though there are several hundreds besides them. But it is mostly found that there are always some side effects associated with them.

The burning question! Is it fully curable? The answer for this is same for all deadly illness – Every disease is curable but...? The statement continues. I would like to focus how to control the problem of hypertension through Yoga practices.

Hypertension is mainly caused by improper working of arteries and heart which is ultimately controlled by our brain impulse. So if we are able to calm our brain it’s possible to calm our body parts too. Yoga provides a unique technique to handle this. Practices of several Yoga asanas (Postures) and Dhyana (Meditation) has proved beneficial to several high blood pressure patients.
YOGA relaxes the muscles which ultimately strengthens the blood vessels.
The other technique includes Meditation which is considered to be the best weapon against hypertension, this is one of the most ancient technique used for managing stress and other mental disorders. But some recent studies have shown that meditation even help in control hypertension because hypertension is caused by more or less a mental disorder. Meditation or Dhyana involves severe concentration of mind over one point, in order to do medication bring yourself in a relaxable posture you like, after that concentrate your mind (Not eye, as we found in many books / articles which focus our eye over one object, it is entirely different phenomenon used to sharpen memory and has nothing to do with mental ailments) over any object with eyes shut. Practice this method in several body postures regularly and ultimately you will find your mind in calm position thereby helping in coping with your Hypertension.
Now-a-days several modern health organizations are promoting yoga for treating the hypertension and launching campaigns and workshops for the people to follow several Yoga guidelines in its treatment against Hypertension.

brosco's problem: this may seem not a medication problem, you may need to see you phsycologist, to dicuss this matter with. and besides it's obvuiosly that you more likely to get turned-on with men than to a woman. my advice is don't keep it that way try seeing someone who better understand your situation. thanks for the time spent.

hi ms_confused:
thanks for the time. with this regard i would like to know more about your situation, there are plenty of factor that we can look up to before hooking up to some remedies. chicken pox is obviously not one of theme(unless if you'v taken a vaccine,"see your doctor" if you do) i would like to know what age are at you right now, or have you ever been lactating before and etc... while some causes of breast cancer can be treated at home, see a doctor if you have any of the following symptoms:
* A lump or firmness
* Soreness in only one breast
* A change in your breast self-exam.
* Nipple discharge on one side
(lactating breast may secrete white/yellow discharge for up to a year after nursing discontineud)

in addition, be sure to examine your breast monthly, regardless whether you hav discomfort or not. in this way you would detect cancerous changes early.

here are some facts that you might need to know:
At certain times in a woman's life, breast can be uncomfortable or downright painful. they may even become the focus of worry and anxiety. Breast discomfort is a normal part of being a woman. It is almost always not a sign of cancer. Breast are mammary glands that are responsive to natural hormonal changes, especialy fluctuations in estrogen,that occur at mentruation, menopause, and pregnancy. hormonal changes can cause breast to become hot, swollen, tender and painful to the touch. breast discomfort is really common for women, we see it a great deal during early prgnancy, with menstruation, and during early hormone therapy at menopause.
some women also suffer from a noncancerous breast condition such as fibrocystic breast that cn cause the breast to feel lumpy, painful and tender.the condition is related to monthly hormonal fluctuations. as amany as 30 percent of all women suffer from fibrocystic breast, but it's very common and considered a normanl-although somewhat painful-condition.while you can't always escape the natural fluctuation in hormones, there are things you can do to comfort yourself and your breast:
*wear a supportive bra, especially if the breast are large.you haVe to wear it 24hrs a day when the breast is tender.try one of those athletic bras that provide comfort and good support."
*take cutting back on caffeine.Scientific evidence is mixed about whether or not eliminating caffeine helps lumpy, fibrocystic breast. one study reported by the national institutes of health, which includes more than 3,000 women found no relationship with caffeine consumption and fibrocystic disease. on the other hand, some women have reported good results from cutting back or eliminating caffeinated coffees, teas, colas and chocolates. try reducing your consumption of caffeine to see if your breast discomfort decrease.
*cut salt. many women are bothered by fluid retention, particularly near the time of their menstrual period. avoiding salt around this time can help minimize fluid retention.
*apply heat/cold packs. some women find relief from painful breasts by alternating a warm heating pad and ice packs. try using the heating pad for 30mins, then the ice packs for 10mins, then the heating pad for 30mins, and so on.

if there's anything more you'd like to add pls feel free to send me a mail at. (dr.foed@gmail.com)

hi, i'm sorry if this comes late,just gotten busy in a virtual world. and anyway, it seems your problem is quit normal to all of us, so i will just give you some tips on how to cope up with this little problem we have on our head that wouldn't even cost a bit of centavo on your medicines.

LIE DOWN. Lying down and closing our eyes for half an hour or more may be one of the best treatments for a bad headache. for some types of headaches, such as migraines, sleep is the only thing that seems to interrupt the pain cycle. the most important thing is to recognize that the faster the patient with a severe headache stops what they're doing and goes to bed and rests, the faster the headache will go away.you need to recognize when the big headache is coming. that's the time to give up and go to bed.

DON'T LET THE SUNSHINE IN. Especially if your symptoms resemble those of migraine(such as severe pain on one side of the head, nausua, blurred vision, and extreme sensitivity to light), resting on a darkened room may alleviate the pain. bright lights may also cause headaches. sometimes looking at a computer screen may bring on headache. tinted glass may help.

USE A COLD COMPRESSOR. A washcloth dipped in ice-cold water and placed over the eyes or an ice pack placed on the site of the pain are other good ways of relieving headache. other solutions are the headache hat which is an ice pack that sorrounds the head, and the ice pillow, which is a frozen gel pack that is inserted to a special pillow.using ice as soon as possible after the onset of the headache will relieve the pain within 20mins for most people.

TRY HEAT.if ice feels uncomfortable to you, or if it doesn't help help your headache, try replacing a warm washcloth over your eyes or on the site of the pain. leaving the compress on for half an hour, rewarming it as necessary.

if these suggestion doesn't work try to e-mail me and tell me more about it. thanks...
